| The Parish Council is run by local councillors nominated or elected by residents to promote the interests of and represent the community in matters such as planning, highways, lighting, street cleaning, public safety. Local Parish Council elections take place every 4 years. Last election was on 3rd May 2007. Councillors are assisted by an employed part-time parish Clerk who acts as the legally recognised administrator and bookeeper. The Council has the power to decide the level of Parish taxation and how to spend the resulting funds for the best benefit of the community.
